Bio

Pat Keating is entering his ninth year as Head Football Coach for the Wyoming Valley West Spartans. He's a 1996 graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School where he was a three year starter on the offensive line, an All-Conference selection, and a member of the UNICO All-Star Game.  He began his career playing for Head Coach John Faust and finished his career serving as a captain for Head Coach Jim Cantafio.  

 

Upon graduating from Wyoming Valley West, Keating attended Kutztown University where he served as a four year starter on the offensive line for the Golden Bears helping pave the way for three different All-Conference tailbacks.  Keating left Kutztown to start his coaching career at Wilson West Lawn High School under his former coach Jim Cantafio in 2001.  In his three year tenure he helped the Bulldogs to two league championships and a district title.

 

In 2003, Keating was hired by the Wyoming Valley West School District and served on the coaching staff under former coach, George Curry.  He took over as Head Coach in 2009 and in 8 years has led the Spartans to a 69-23 record.  Under his tenure the Spartans have reached the post season every year.  

 

He has guided his teams to six straight Wyoming Valley Conference AAAA Championships from 2010-2015, the only Eastern Conference Championship in school history in 2012, and three District 2 AAAA Championships in 2010, 2013, and 2015. Keating currently resides in Edwardsville with his wife Angela and their dog Stella.
